Hi, I am Quattro, an artist.

I oftentimes have words that get stuck in my head, and when they do, I think about them, trying to understand, define and analyse them, asking for opinions and consulting the Web doing so.
In general, they represent life-aspect topics, from my past to the state of the art. They can represent emotions or they may be tech related, as an engineer that I am.
The most complex word that consumed most of my time is Art, but now, here, I'd like to share my personal opinion on this, to myself, for everyone.

If it happens to ask someone the definition of Art, they'll most likely tell you that it's too subjective to give a definition for it, but they'll all agree that painting, architecture, or dance can be considered as such.
"What's the connection between them?" may be spontaneous to ask, and the answer is straightforward: everything related to visual beauty, but what about music then? Is there something more?

Arguments like this tends to quickly touch on psychology, philosophy and, most importantly, emotions, which is the main reason it's pointless to give an objective definition of Art. For this reason, I am not here to find a definition that will make most readers say "this is true", rather I am here to share my thoughts.

Art is passion. It is more than just something visually appealing. People have stopped to think about this term. They'll just refer to something beautiful because the connection is straightforward: everything related to visual beauty could be considered Art.
But when someone starts to explain a concept they're profoundly interested in, whether you understand that or not, it will still be noticeable when they're giving passion on its work, and that's where I consider it Art.

Only a few people I met consistently put passion to their work, and as time passes, I've noticed that this passion is being lost, buried more than 30 kilometers deep in the Earth's crust. Why have people stopped giving importance to their work? Why do you wish every day you weren't doing something you're doing right now? And most importantly, why don't you stop doing it immediately?
"What are you saying? I'm putting passion on my Art!" Are you sure? Why don't you spend five to ten minutes without looking at any screen, without looking at any object, without talking to anyone, thinking about the story of your Art? I suggest you do it right now, if you thought about this.

What discourages me most is not the final product, good or bad as it is, but rather the process that's been lost. After all, you want to win that competition, to reach the first place, to be famous, to be part of the society. The AI revolution is changing the way we think about Art, making it lose its human touch.

How much of your Art did you create yourself? Would you still call it Art if it had not been made by a human?

To anyone reading this, I really want you to think about how you're spending your time creating your Art. If you've decided to do something, you must have though about it in the last few minutes, hours, or days, and if it's something that is going to take portion of your life to achieve, why don't you put passion in it?

This is why I like to call myself an artist. Because I still have passion, whether It's music, tech or writing.

P.S.: If you share my same opinions, please contact me. I wish to meet people that think this way.
